Kyle Blackburn and Don Lentz shot a 144 total to win the annual Scratch & Scramble by one stroke at Piney Branch Golf Club on June 14.
Russ Wenderoth and Andy Carroll tied with Rob Bouthner and Brian Bouthner, one stroke back in the championship flight. Jeff Bergman and Bob Samet placed fourth at 146.
Mike Tamberino and Matt Lukehart won the first flight with a 150. Bill Phillips and Less Preble tied for second with Bill Hoffman and Bill Reed at 157.
Jeremy Krug and Scott Cassel won the second flight, carding a 163 to finish one stroke ahead of George Knouse and Robbie Schmid. Tom McGown and Norm Rockwell were next at 170.
Mike Gerber and Bill Gerber won the third flight with a 172, one ahead of Kevin Jason and Bob Dunn.
Gary Bancroft and Harold Rothman won the gold championship flight with a 175 total, four better than Barney Bentz and Jim Carmine. The gold first flight went to Geoff Forman and Dave Rochlin, with a 182. Bruce Cotter and Ken Peters finished second at 218.
Judy Hughes and Peggy Eline shot 174 to win the ladies championship flight. Betty Donley and Grace Naylor carded a 193 win the ladies first flight, with Nancy Gailey and Carolyn Stem finishing second at 208. Edith Tracey and Claire McDonough shot 208 to win the ladies second flight.
PINEY PARENT-CHILD: George and Drew Outten carded a 71 to win the gross portion of Piney Branch’s Parent-Child event on June 7. Kevin Thalheimer and Matt Lutz were second, three shots back.
Randolph and Ryan Groft won the net division on a match of cards over Peggy and Steve Eline after both teams finished at 65. Steve and Connor Eline were third at 66 followed by Gene and Ken Curtis (68) and Jeff and Kevin Singer (69).

Jeff and Olivia Zachman won the nine-hole division with a 36, two better than Brian and Seirra Bouthner.
Nancy and Brian Gailey won the Callaway Division with a 145, one better than George and Greg Fanshaw. Bob and Charles Kaplan were third at 148, followed by Edward and Sally Stanfield.
Finally, in the three-hole division, Nicholas Hodgekiss shot 14, Squeaky Berman had 15, Hannah Hodgekiss 16, Tyler Bruns 16, Tanner Herring 17, Robbie Bouthner 19, Bennit Traurig 20, Jeremy Silber 22 and Lilly Bruns also participated.
PRESIDENTS CUP: Piney Branch’s annual Presidents Cup was played on June 6.
Charlie Palmer shot 76 to win low blue tees gross, beating Matt Lukehart in a playoff. Drew Outten finished third at 78, and Mike Pauley, Mike Zgorski, Roland Nickoles, Cody Mewhirter and John Stout all shot 79.
Ken Peters shot 67 to win white tees low net by one stroke over Stu Sapperstein. Chris Hodgekiss and Josh Pelta tied for third at 69, and Kevin Thalheimer was fifth at 70. Carol Gailey shot 76 to win white tees low gross by one over Chip Lukehart. Bill Fiero was third at 78.
Joe Marshall won the gold tees net with a 60, a whopping 12 better than runner-up Dave Rochlin. Harold Rothman was third at 73. Jay Levy won low gold tees gross with an 83.
Peggy Eline shot 93 to win low gross among ladies. Betty Donley won low net with a 76, followed by Debbie Levy (80), Lois Walsh (81), Judy Hughes (83) and Helga Bancroft.
WAKEFIELD MATCH PLAY: The four top seeds, Ryan Kimble, Dan Mastrangelo, Ken Mattison and Bruce Smith advanced to the championship flight semifinals of Wakefield Valley’s Match Play Club Championship.
The championship match is slated to be contested over 27 holes on Sunday. Kimble is the only one of the four who has previously won the event.
