Following is a list of new and returning shows this fall:

New on ABC


  • “The Forgotten”

    Network: ABC

    Premieres: 10 p.m. Tues. Sept. 22

    Synopsis: Drama series in which a team of dedicated amateurs — The Forgotten Network — work on murder cases involving unidentified victims. After the police have given up, this group, led by Alex Donovan (Christian Slater), must first solve the puzzle of the victim’s identity in order to then help catch the killer.

    Cast: Christian Slater, Michelle Borth, Heather Stephens, Bob Stephenson, Anthony Carrigan and Rochelle Aytes.

  • “Cougar Town”

    Network: ABC




  • Premieres: 9:30 p.m. Weds. Sept. 23

    Synopsis: Courteney Cox stars as Jules, a recently divorced single mother exploring the honest truths about dating and aging in our beauty and youth obsessed culture.

    Cast: Courteney Cox, Busy Philipps, Dan Byrd, Christa Miller, Josh Hopkins, Ian Gomez and Brian Van Holt.

  • "Modern Family"

    Network: ABC

    Premieres: 9 p.m. Sept. 23

    Synopsis: Phil and Claire are two parents who want to have that open, healthy, honest relationship with their three kids. It's not always easy, especially when you have a teenage daughter who's growing up a little fast, a too-smart-for-her-own-good middle daughter and a rambunctious boy. On top of that, Phil wants to be the "cool dad," while Claire is just trying her best to run a tight ship, determined not to let her kids have the rebellious childhood she had.

    Cast: Ed O'Neill, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Sarah Hyland, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould and Ariel Winter.

  • “Hank”

    Network: ABC

    Premieres: 8 p.m. Weds. Sept. 30

    Synopsis: Sometimes scaling back is the best way to get ahead. A legendary entrepreneur in the sports retail world, Hank Pryor (Kelsey Grammer) and his wife, Tilly, have been living the high life in New York City. That is until Hank is forced out of his CEO job and has to downsize and move his family back home to the small town of River Bend, Virginia.

    Cast: Kelsey Grammar, Melinda McGraw, David Koechner, Sasha Pieterse and Nathan Gamble.

  • “Eastwick”

    Network: ABC

    Premieres: 10 p.m. Weds. Sept. 23

    Synopsis: In the seaside village of Eastwick, three very different women are about to discover some bewitching talents they never knew they had. And once they get together — watch out. Something wicked their way comes.

    Cast: Ashley Benson, Jon Bernthal, Veronica Cartwright, Jamie Ray Newman, Lindsay Price, Rebecca Romijn, Sara Rue, Johann Urb and Paul Gross.

  • “FlashForward”

    Network: ABC

    Premieres: 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24

    Synopsis: What would you do if you were given a glimpse of the future? Would you accept what you saw and live life to its fullest, or would you do everything in your power to change your destiny? When the world's population is given a glimpse of their future, it forces everyone to come to grips with whether their destinies can be fulfilled or avoided in “FlashForward.”

    Cast: Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Zachary Knighton, Peyton List, Dominic Monaghan and Brian O’Byrne.

  • “The Middle”

    Network: ABC

    Premieres: 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30

    Synopsis: Frankie Heck is a superhero. Well, no, not an actual superhero — not unless you count getting her kids out the door for school every morning as a superfeat. Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country, this harried wife and working mother of three uses her wry wit and sense of humor to try to get her family through each day intact. Frankie has a job selling cars at the town’s only surviving car dealer; her husband, Mike, is a manager at the local quarry.

    Cast: Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, Charlie McDermott, Eden Sher, Atticus Shaffer and Chris Kattan.

    Synopsis: In an elegant Spanish-style apartment complex in the trendy Melrose neighborhood of Los Angeles, the lives and relationships of a diverse group of 20-somethings intertwine to form a close-knit surrogate family.

    Cast: Katie Cassidy, Colin Egglesfield, Stephanie Jacobsen, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady and Shaun Sips.

  • “The Beautiful Life: TBL”

    Network: The CW

    Premieres: 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16

    Synopsis: Young models living together in a models' residence in New York, struggle to deal with the cutthroat competition and fleeting fame of the fashion world.

    Cast: Sara Paxton, Mischa Barton, Corbin Bleu, Benjamin Holingsworth, Ashley Maddekwe and Nico Tortorella.

  • “The Vampire Diaries”

    Network: The CW

    Premieres: 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10

    Synopsis: Focuses on the battle between two Vampire brothers — one good, one evil — who compete for the love of the same young woman.

    Cast: Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning and Katerina Graham.

  • “The Cleveland Show”

    Synopsis: Animated series follows “Family Guy’s” favorite soft-spoken neighbor, Cleveland Brown, as he settles down in Virginia with his high school sweetheart and her unruly kids.

    Synopsis: A single woman finds herself “accidentally” pregnant after a one-night stand with a much younger guy, and decides to keep the baby … and the guy. A newspaper film critic, Billie is barely surviving a humiliating breakup with her charming boss, James who's still trying to resume their relationship. Suddenly expecting a child with her “boy toy,” Zack, Billie and Zack make an arrangement: to live together platonically.

    Cast: Jenna Elfman, Grant Show, Jon Foster, Ashley Jensen and Lennon Parham.

  • “NCIS: Los Angeles”

    Network: CBS

    Premieres: 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22

    Synopsis: A drama about the high stakes world of undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation’s security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets.

    Cast: Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Daniela Ruah and Peter Cambor.

  • “The Good Wife”

    Network: CBS

    Premieres: 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22

    Synopsis: A drama about a wife and mother who boldly assumes full responsibility for her family and re-enters the workforce after her husband's very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Pushing aside the betrayal and crushing public humiliation caused by her husband Peter, Alicia Florrick starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney. As a junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she joins her longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner Will Gardner who is interested to see how Alicia will perform after 13 years out of the courtroom.

    Cast: Julianne Margulies, Chris Noth, Josh Charles and Christine Baranski.

  • “Three Rivers”

    Network: CBS

    Premieres: 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4

    Synopsis: This medical drama goes inside the emotionally complex lives of organ donors, the recipients and the surgeons at the preeminent transplant hospital in the country where every moment counts. However, dealing with donor families in their darkest hour and managing the fears and concerns of apprehensive recipients takes much more than just a sharp scalpel.

    Cast: Alex O'Loughlin, Katherine Moennig, Daniel Henney, Christopher J. Hanke and Justina Machado.

    Synopsis: A comedy series about a band of misfits who attend Greendale Community College. At the center of the group is Jeff Winger, a fast-talkin’ lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group who eventually learn more about themselves than their course work.

    Cast: Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, Gillian Jacobs, Ken Jeong and Danny Pudi.

  • “Mercy”

    Network: NBC

    Premieres: 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23

    Synopsis: A medical drama about the lives of the people who work at Mercy Hospital seen through the eyes of the nurses.

    Cast: Jamie Lee Kirchner, Taylor Schilling, Michelle Trachtenberg and James Tupper.

  • “Trauma”

    Network: NBC

    Premieres: 9 p.m. Sept. 28

    Synopsis: "Trauma" is an intense, action-packed look at one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world: first responder paramedics. When emergencies occur, the trauma team from San Francisco City Hospital is first on the scene, traveling by land, by sea or by air to reach their victims in time. From the heights of the city’s Transamerica Pyramid to the depths of the San Francisco Bay, these heroes must face the most extreme conditions to save lives — and give meaning to their own existence in the process.

    Synopsis: Contemporary re-imagining of the blockbuster film depicts the colorful and imperfect Braverman family — four grown siblings sharing the headaches, heartaches, and joy of being parents.
