Admit it. You wish you were the owner of the Gregory Maya daypack with Biosync technology, designed to emulate tendons and make for a more comfortable fit.
And it’s pink. here
It’s lightweight and has a lot of different compartments, which makes storage of food, water, etc, easy. Although I tend to forget which stuff I put in which pockets. And the waste straps are a little annoying.
Overall, though, it’s a good bag for hiking. It has a pocket for electronics to keep them dry when it rains. And it can store Gregory’s hydration system, although I haven’t found a need for that yet.
I also use it as my airplane carry-on. It’s much less bulky than other kinds of bags, and its color makes it easy to spot in overhead compartments. I was the most fashionable faux hiker on the plane from Dayton, Ohio, to Baltimore for sure.
With the cooler weather, the changing leaves and school started back up, it’s a pretty good time for a hike.
On an unrelated note, there was no room in Friday Life & Times for a travel page this week. I have, however, scoured the Associated Press wire for the best travel stories and posted them in the There & Back section of the Times web site, www.carrollcountytimes.com/features/there_and_back.
The highlight is the new Harry Potter theme park. Autumn-y activities and Las Vegas suites are also featured but can’t compete with the awesomeness that is Harry Potter.
